Zach Clayton
Civil & Environmental Engineering Analyst
Zach is an analyst at the Smart Surfaces Coalition where his work includes researching, valuing, and refining green stormwater infrastructure strategies to mitigate urban flooding and reduce stormwater management costs. Through his Master's studies in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, Zach brings an array of technical skills to the Smart Surfaces Coalition where he is using this expertise to conduct in-depth research and analysis which will aid municipal, public, and private stakeholders in developing a better understanding of the interrelatedness of infrastructure, climate, and socioeconomic factors as they impact citizens in our world’s cities.
Zach appreciates the opportunities to learn from his colleagues at the Smart Surfaces Coalition and the Coalition's partner organizations, developing an innovative and holistic approach to our improving urban opportunities. Ultimately, he intends to use his engineering background to become a licensed engineer and transform our resource systems--food, energy, and water--to become more sustainable and equitable.
