Originally from Maryland, Yinka is currently in a fourth year student at the University of Toronto -  St. George Campus, where he is studying Physics, Math and History and Philosophy of Science and Technology. At the Smart Surfaces Coalition, he has worked extensively on quantifying the impacts of cool/reflective (high albedo) surfaces.

Using his background in physics and math, Yinka is currently doing groundbreaking analysis of existing methods to quantify the CO2 equivalent reduction potential from increasing the albedo of surfaces, and constructing a new, more accurate and applicable equation that will facilitate a conversion from change in surface albedo to an equivalent offset of CO2. This work will scale a global CO2 forcing equation in order to get relative values for smaller surface areas (e.g. regions, cities, neighborhoods).
