Pratyush is a Smart Surfaces Scholar investigating the relationship between global tourism patterns and climate trends, within the larger context of quantifying the economic impacts of climate change. In particular, his research has focused on estimating the relationship between rising temperatures and domestic tourism activity on a region-by-region basis, to better provide relevant stakeholders with results specific to their contexts. 

With a background in leveraging economics to solve societal issues, Pratyush has a deep interest in aligning quantitative and qualitative approaches to identify pragmatic strategies for mitigating the issues our world now faces. Pratyush is a Morehead-Cain Scholar at the University of North Carolina, pursuing a double major in Economics and Mathematics, with a minor in History, as well as a Visiting Student at the University of Oxford, completing coursework in Mathematics, Philosophy, and Economics.
