Maliya Ellis
Communications Analyst
Maliya is a member of the media and communications team at the Smart Surfaces Coalition. She is excited to be working to build SSC's media strategy, targeting local, state, and federal government, as well as key city stakeholders. Her work also includes using communications and media to educate the general public on the importance of smart surfaces as an essential mitigation and adaptation strategy.
Maliya is a rising sophomore at Harvard University studying Social Studies, an interdisciplinary social science major combining economics, statistics, and sociology. She recently finished a research assistant internship at the Yale Center for Environmental Law & Policy, and is now working with the Smart Surfaces Coalition to apply and build on this experience. As an aspiring journalist, she writes for the Harvard Crimson and contributes freelance articles to a local newspaper. She has a passion for education and telling stories, and believes that climate change is the biggest story of our times.
