Joe Alejandro
Research Analyst Intern
Joe is a recent graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College and an incoming PhD Candidate at the University of Pittsburgh where he will be pursuing a doctorate in Public Health with a concentration in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. At the Smart Surfaces Coalition (SSC), Joe works to help update the Coalition’s cost-benefit tool and identify novel areas for benefit quantification.
Before joining the coalition, Joe worked with the Pittsburgh Platform, an environmental health equity-focused organization convening partners in urban design, sustainable architecture, and environmental health research to improve the health outcomes of Southwestern Pennsylvania residents.
As a Summer 2023 research analyst intern, Joe hopes to continue to build his skills in cost-benefit analysis and policy research while working to create tangible change for the diverse communities involved with SSC.
