Jacob Miller

Senior Project Manager

Jacob Miller is Senior Project Manager at the Smart Surfaces Coalition where he manages the Coalition's Cities for Smart Surfaces Program. Jacob is a Certified Energy Manager and has worked as a material scientist, policy researcher, journalist, and community organizer. With Smart Surfaces Coalition, he works with a wide array of experts to help city staff and community groups increase the presence of solar reflective, permeable, and vegetated surfaces in their cities to create a more resilient urban environment.

Jacob brings a multidisciplinary background to the team — prior to joining SSC, Jacob was the Senior Producer & Managing Editor of Pricing Nature, a Yale Center for Business and the Environment research initiative and podcast about carbon pricing, and conducted research on novel semiconductor materials at Yale’s Energy Sciences Institute.

He holds a B.S. in Applied Physics with a certificate in Energy Studies from Yale University.
