 Gabi Frank

Data and research intern

Gabi is a postgraduate studying Msc Sustainable Urbanism at University College London. She recently graduated with a BSc (Hons) Ecology & Conservation degree from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. Spending a semester in Singapore studying urban ecology inspired her to pursue urban sustainability and planning as a whole. A few of the topics she is passionate about are circular cities, ecological services, and the ongoing energy crisis. She joins SSC to be immersed in the ongoing work on sustainable cities and polish her GIS skills.

For Gabi’s dissertation project, she explored the impact of economic inequality and environmental injustice within large cities — for example disparities of urban heat, tree cover, green space connectivity, and waste management — on evolutionary drivers affecting urban wildlife. At St Andrews, she helped lead the Biology Society, the St Andrews branch of Hedgehog Friendly Campus, and served as Student Engagement Officer for the local Biodiversity Committee.

As a Research and Analysis Intern at SSC, she looks forward to developing her skills and knowledge while creating real change and progress for cities.
