Arun Nanda

Co-Founder of Si-Labs, and Trustee for the Board of Science Based Targets Initiative

Mr. Arun Nanda holds a Degree in Law from the University of Calcutta, is a Chartered Accountant (FCA), Company Secretary (FCS) and Senior Executive Program at the London Business School.

He joined the Mahindra Group in 1973 and retired August 2014. He held several important positions within the Group over the 40 years and was inducted to the Board of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) and was President in August 1992. He is Founder Chairman of Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd.; and few other Mahindra Group companies.

He is currently a Trustee on the Board of Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

Mr. Nanda is the Managing Trustee of Adhata Trust, which works in the area of bringing dignity and purpose in the lives of senior citizens. Currently there are about 20 Community Centers, Day Care Centers and a Geriatric Ward in an existing Charitable Hospital. He is also Managing Trustee of the Blossoming Hope Trust, where he has built a Charitable Home for about 100 senior citizens near Mumbai.

He is also Co-Founder of Si Labs where he works on creating livelihood for youth.

He has held several senior positions in various trade bodies including the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce (currently Chairman Emeritus) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He was a Member of the Task Force set up by the B20 on Anti-Corruption which presented the policy paper to President Sarkozy at the G20 Summit held in Cannes in November 2011 and to President Putin in St. Petersburg in June 2013.

Mr. Nanda was honored with “Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur” (Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour) by the President of the French Republic, Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy in 2008.
