Research Analyst

Sophie is a research analyst for the Smart Surfaces Coalition. Her current research is focused on determining the financial costs and the value of benefits from implementing green roofs and green walls in cities. Sophie also works to assist the Harvard Graduate School of Design’s linear afforestation project by providing insight on native and edible plants. 

A junior at the University of North Carolina, Sophie will graduate in 2023 with a major in Environmental Science and a minor in Geographic Information Science. Sophie is thankful for the opportunity to work and learn during her time at Smart Surface Coalition. She hopes to utilize her experience working at urban farms and botanical gardens, knowledge of urban planning, and passion for the environment to help make cities more equitable and sustainable.
